  7. gorgeous as well as beautiful...
Mysore Palace needs no explanation for the local residents or tourists. I have visited a lot of palaces across India. But, I have never seen such an impressive and dramatic palace. The magnificent palace can be considered as the most beautiful palace in India. This building is not only the pride of Wodyar kings; it is even the pride of India – a dramatic monumental symbol of India.
Happy virtual tour and happy traveling to mysore.

  8. Nice Virtual Tour, I feel as if I am inside palace

Only one of its kinds in the world, the Mysore Palace's illumination that has remained a mascot for the tourism industry here has an interesting history.

For, at least during the first few decades after construction, the palace boasted of having more number of electrical lamps than the entire city had.

The Mysore Palace Board pays Rs. 89,000 an hour to the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation. It spends nearly Rs. 1 crore every year towards maintenance of the palace illumination alone of its Rs. 4-crore revenue. More than 25,000 bulbs are replaced every year just before the Dasara festivities.

It is only at the Mysore Palace the specially made Brass Screw Lamp suitable for Ferry Land Based (FLB) holder is used in the country. While Mysore Lamps Ltd. was supplying these bulbs in the past; a Bangalore-based ancillary unit of Mysore Lamps supplies them now. The Mysore Palace illumination has changed over the period of time.

If the original planners used 40-watt bulbs, the authorities now are using 15-watt bulbs to prevent circuit burnout.

In fact, the 1910 oilpaper based insulation was replaced with PVC insulation to prevent the heating up of circuits during 1989 when a major overhaul was taken up.

Good work Manivannan Sahab aur Harsh Guptaji, aapka team bahut acha kam kiya, humko mysore bahut yaad athaya. virtual tour dekhae purani yaad taaza huwa.

  10. The caption under the photograph of Late H.H. Sri.Kanteerava Narasimha Raja Wadiyar is wrong. He was the Yuvaraja of Mysore not Maharaja as stated. He was the younger brother of Maharaja Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV and father of Maharaja Jaya Chama Raja wadiyar.

  16. Amazing architecture! Great presentation and fantastic details!
good shot, shows all the details in the building.

Mysore is commonly known as “The City of Palaces”, but the most glorious among all these palaces is the Mysore palace. It is generally called as the Main Palace. The most treasured images of the Mysore city are the snaps of this palace

I have visited the place and it is very beautiful. The entry into palace grounds is free, however you cannot enter inside the palace after 5pm. The view attracts thousands of visitors every Sunday evening.

Virtual tour of mysore palace is free of all timings, good work from the palace officials, police officials, illumination team, divisional controller of mysore etc.

we are proud to be from mysore (currently in and mysore is on the top tourist destination, keep it up mysore palace

  30. Outstanding. Words cannot express my joy viewing the Infantryman in the procession.

    Suggestions:
    1. Listening to Smt. MSSubbulakshmi's UN Concert in 1966, I found a song componsed by HH Jayachamaraja Wodeyar. Adding a section on artistic contributions (music, painting etc.) of the royal family I believe is deserving.

    2. Please add a link to the satellite image of Mysore Palace.

  31. pls provide toilet facilites to visitors... existing ones are wack!!!!!! even after paying money.

Its apathy that royal palace can not make arrangment for visitor toilets... shame on the glory!!!

  32. I was at the palace last week along with my husband (who is a Belgian) and his family. They were extremely disappointed with the chaos, rude crowd and the inability of the staff to handle the situation. They were not allowed to stand at a place and observe while their audio-sets were describing things. My mother-in-law said she felt like cattle being led in a herd. Me as an Indian was also very disappointed to see minimal description of the things on display. I would like to request the maintenance committee to please put up some more boards with more explanation for Indian tourists who are really interested in knowing their history. We also found the staff extremely rude because they kept blowing their whistles into our ears to get the crowd moving. If we are not allowed to spend even 2min to watch and understand something I believe it would not be worth a visit. I did go up to the office of the Deputy Officer to lodge a suggestion. I couldn't meet him in person neither enter my suggestion in the suggestion book, but was assured by another officer that the matter would be considered. I request the committee members to think about the impression that is lodged in both foreign and Indian tourists because of the unorganised mess at the beautiful Mysore Palace.

  33. Can you at least say 'Kannada' instead of just 'Kan' in the below link: http://www.mysorepalace.tv/Mysore_Palace_Tickets.htm

You have enough space to spell Kannada in its entirety. English would cover the most. So why Hindi? It's not a national language. Just get rid of it.

Ticket price being 200 Rs for foreigners sound rude. Put it nicely.

  35. please ensure good and clean toilets for the visitors.....

i am proud of indian culture and glory which is being showcased to all( including foriengners).

at one instance u r showing this world class and splendid palace to wth world but hardly care about the toilet facility for visitors.

existing toilets are not at all usably even after paying fee. they are dirt/wack! and do not have proper doors.

Please ensure proper toilets for visitors and protect the indian image.

  36. I live in the US. I visited Mysore Palace 3 years back with my granddaughter 13 years old then. The entrance fee for US citizens was very high. I understand the reason for this as the government tries to subsidise for the local people. But I don't understand why you can't give facilities. When we visited during the Christmas break, there was no place to walk; one kept moving because of the push from people behind you. I understand the difference in the entrance fee, but according to that you should give facility. Any one who pays the high entrance fee can come for a pre designated 1/2 hour in a day. The high entrance fee will reduce the crowding. I was born and raised in India. I would not like anyone to experience this very high crowding and talk/look down at India. We, the people, can do something about it. Thank you.

  37. I enjoyed visiting the Palace and it is magnificient and well maintained. However the platform for climbing up for the elephant ride has one side open and I saw many kids playing on top. Since it can be dangerous, I request authorities to look into the matter by having a reasonably high gate like structure on top on all sides-the current height seems to be low and may lead to tripping.
